Right to equal rights with respect to the nationality of the children

Women should have equal right with men to pass on their nationality to their children. Nationality is critical to full participation in society. Women should not be subject to fewer rights than fathers to transmit nationality. Also in light of the child’s right to nationality it is especially important that a single mother can pass on her nationality to the child, to ensure he/she does not end up stateless.
